Creating the report

After going through the effort to get dual quantities entered in your QuickBooks transactions, where do you find the results of that effort? In ManagePLUS reports. This lesson shows where to find dual quantity information in a report.

Creating the report

1. Open the Profit & Loss with Classes report by selecting Reports > Profit & Loss with Classes from the ManagePLUS main menu.

Many reports include advanced quantity information; this is just one example.

2. Scroll downward and to the right in the report to find the Raised livestock (lbs, head) section shown in the report fragment below.

The rows highlighted in yellow are a class-by-class breakdown of sales for the Raised livestock (lbs, head) account. We’ve scrolled to the right to see the columns that hold information related to dual quantities.

In case you’ve forgotten, for the Raised livestock account Qty 1 is the weight of animals sold, in pounds. Qty 2 is the number of animals sold (number of head). As you can see, ManagePLUS has provided a total for Qty 2, and has also calculated the average selling price per head and average selling weight (Qty 1 divided by Qty 2).

By the way, all of this information came from the QuickBooks transactions in the ManagePLUS Farm Example file. As ManagePLUS refreshed those transactions from QuickBooks, it extracted the Qty 2 information from the Memo or Description field of each transaction. Only the unit of measure names “lb.” and “head” came from data you entered in ManagePLUS, in lessons 4 and 9.
