The report window toolbar Format > Column widths submenu provides commands for managing report column widths.

Format > Column widths submenu options:

ManagePLUS for QuickBooks arrow r Format > Column widths submenu This submenu can only be invoked if the Always auto-fit column widths item in the Format menu is not check marked.

 

Auto-fit selected column(s)

Changes the width of the column(s) currently included in the range of cells selected in the report spreadsheet, to fit the text in those columns.

Note: this is a one-time auto-fit of column widths. If you want columns to always be resized to the text they contain, you must check mark the auto-fit item in the Format menu.

 

Auto-fit all columns

Changes the width of all columns in the report spreadsheet to fit the text in those columns.

Save as default widths

Saves your current column widths as the default column widths for this report type. (Different column width settings may be saved for different report types.)

Note: When a report has multiple occurrences of the same column, only the width of the first column (from the left side of the report) will be saved.

 

Reset to “factory” widths

Resets the current report’s column widths to their original settings.

The purpose of this command is to let you recover from setting columns to extremely wide or extremely narrow widths.
